Voting forms were submitted from far and wide for the Eastern Riverina Chronicle’s Readers Choice Baby Competition.
Two weeks ago the finalist’s photos and names were published and the competition closed on Friday, December 7. After all the votes were counted the winner by far was cutie Natalie Hasler of Culcairn. The runner-up was a gorgeous little fellow from Yerong Creek by the name of Andrew Male.
On Monday December 15 the two prize winners came into the ERC Office in Henty to meet special guests Santa and Jodie McMasters from the Portrait Place in Albury.
Natalie (through her Mum, Toni Hasler) was given first prize of a 5 night Gold Coast holiday for 2 adults, compliments of the Bay of Palms Resort. Toni said “I would like to thank both the Eastern Riverina Chronicle and all the readers who voted for Natalie - it’s a wonderful feeling to have your child receive such an accolade”.
Andrew’s father, Cameron Male, was given a certificate for a photo package by Jodie McMaster of Photo Place Photographic Studios, Albury. The babies also received a satin, embroidered sash with their winning details on from the Eastern Riverina Chronicle. Cameron said that he and Sarah were “extremely proud” of Andrew winning this award and they wanted to “extend our thanks to the Portrait Place Photographic Studio Albury for the prize, the Eastern Riverina Chronicle, it’s readers and all who voted for Andrew”.
In the early part of 2009 the ERC will be running another competition called ERC Junior Miss and ERC Junior Master for the two to four year-olds in the readership. Again this will be a readers choice competition so watch for further details.
